the house
Pond Cottage dates back to 1711
a gem of a place nestled into the rolling, Kentish countryside with nothing but fields, orchards and the hint of an oasthouse in sight
a retreat to be savoured in an area of outstanding natural beauty 1 mile from both Selling and Chilham, the latter being a typical picture postcard English village
the property has recently undergone a major renovation and refurbishment transforming it into a haven of peaceful, " cool comfort" enjoying aspects of both classic and contemporary (some say wacky) design
an “upgrade” of the ¾ acre of land (the garden) is slowly now being undertaken: you can enjoy stunning views to the front of the house overlooking the hen pen, meadow and large natural pond - wildlife is abundant particularly the feathered variety - wrens, finches, tits, magpies, moorhens, mallards, pheasants and woodpeckers frequent the garden throughout most of the year
the dining room, situated close to your room, is at your disposal - this is where you will eat and can enjoy an open fire, games and a choice of books to read
whilst your bedroom offers you an en suite shower we are happy for you to use the private bathroom, complete with roll top bath and magnificent views, if arranged in advance
wheelchair access is possible - regrettably Pond Cottage is a non-smoking house - unfortunately we do not accept children or pets as guests
